Indications: The indications are much similar to anterior cervical discectomy and fusion except that this procedure is generally done in younger people without arthritis to preserve mobility and also reduce the chances of adjacent segment disease.
Surgical procedure – This is the same as for the fusion surgery. An artificial disc is used instead of a cage and no bone graft or screws are used.
Risks are the same as for a cervical fusion surgery.
Post-operative care and advise is the same.
